Larry Giangulio, age 79, of Troy Ohio passed away at Ohio Miami County Hospice Inpatient Unit on Wednesday November 13, 2024 surrounded by close friends, Pam Preston Leach and Carol Preston.  He was born on August 1, 1945 in Steubenville, Ohio to the late Lawrence and Doris (Buckham) Giangulio.

Larry is survived by his cousins: Rodger Clark, of Harlingen, TX, Carol Clark, of Washington, IL, Sandra (Buckham) Streb, of Pittsburgh, Pa and Edward Buckham, of Toronto, OH.  He was preceded in death by his parents, wife: Jane P Giangulio; his son: Larry Lee Giangulio; cousins Eddie Clark and Susan Buckham; and longtime friend: Delmar Preston.

Larry graduated from Toronto Ohio High School in 1963. He attended and graduated from Kent State. He also received his Master Degree at Xavier University. He taught at Northwestern, Bethel Local Schools and Troy High School. He was a football and golf coach at both Troy High School and Bethel High School for a few years.  He spent his life in the education and athletic fields.  Larry also served as a guidance counselor in the Troy School System.  He helped hundreds of students find or stay on the right path.

Larry was an avid golfer and longtime member of the Miami Shores Golf Club.  He won several senior events, especially when paired with his pal, Del Preston, and had 12 hole in ones throughout many courses.  The Men's Golf Association will miss him.  Larry was also a devoted fan of the St. Louis Cardinals since he was a child, listening to ball games on his transistor radio in his bedroom at night. He hated peas, he would hide them from the dinner plate to the underside ledge of the dining room table.  Larry was a member of St Francis Catholic Church of Toronto, Ohio.
