LANA L. (RYAN) SCHELKUN

LANA L. (RYAN) SCHELKUN, age, 70, of Troy, passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2015, at her residence.  She was born on May 22, 1945 in Piqua to the late William and Louanne (Westfall) Ryan. Her husband of 47 years, Tom Schelkun, survives.

Lana is also survived by two sons: Erik (Andi) Schelkun of Tipp City and Kevin Schelkun of Troy; one granddaughter: Tessa; and two sisters: Carol (Jon) Peisinger of New Canaan, CT and Cindee (Ted) Bush of Highland Heights, KY. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother: Patrick Ryan.

Lana was a 1963 graduate of Troy High School.  She furthered her education at Central Missouri State College and Wright State University.  Lana was an avid reader and spent a lot of time with friends and family in her backyard garden.  She was a Reading Intervention Aide with Troy City Schools and participated in Ohio Reads Volunteer Program through Kyle Elementary School.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00 PM on October 4, 2015 at Baird Funeral Home in Troy with a Remembrance by Rick Jackson.  Friends may call from 1-3 PM on October 4, 2015 at the funeral home.
