Kathryn Rose Thomas Kathryn Rose Thomas, age 92, formerly of Lorain, Ohio more recently of Tipp City, Ohio, passed away at 12:20AM on Friday, August 29, 2008, at SpringMeade Health Care Center, Tipp City, Ohio. She was born March 6, 1916 in Lorain, Ohio, to the late Charles and Luena Schneider Meck. Her husband, Raymond M. Thomas, preceded her in death on August 28, 2000. She is survived by a son, Paul Thomas & Fiancé Carol Frank of Troy, Ohio; daughter, Joan M. Phillip Warren of Dayton, Ohio; three grandchildren: Jennifer Ann Brian Bowman of Troy, Ohio, Michael Warren of Dayton, Ohio and Christopher Warren of Dayton, Ohio; and two great-granddaughters: Alyssa and Emma Bowman. In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by one brother, Wilbur Meck. She was a graduate of St. Joseph's Catholic Church Grade School, and of the Lorain High School, class of 1933. She was also a member of the National Honor Society. Mrs. Thomas was a member of the St. Peter's Catholic Church, Lorain, Ohio and of the Loyal Christian Benevolent Association #893; former President of the National Council of Catholic Women from 1973-1975; tour director for 50 tours for the National Council of Catholic Women visiting American and Canadian Shrines; she and her husband promoted rosary services in all of Lorain County parishes for 25 years; she was the director and driver for the American Red Cross for ten years; she served on the board of Goodwill Industries for five years; and she worked for Lorain County Board of Elections for 49 years. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00AM Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 3655 Oberlin Ave. Lorain, Ohio 44053, with interment to follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain. Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9PM on Tuesday at the Reidy-Scanlan Funeral Home in Lorain, Ohio. Rosary services will be held Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
