KATHLEEN M. GARRETT

KATHLEEN M. GARRETT, age 67, of Troy, passed away on Monday, May 19, 2014 at her residence.  She was born in Troy on January 30, 1947 to the late Edward and Winifred (Davis) Morgan, Sr.  Her husband of 47 years, Dennis Edward Garrett, Sr., survives.

In addition to her husband, Kathleen is survived by two sons: Edward (Kristin) Garrett II of Sidney, OH and Noah K. (Fiancé Rhonda) Garrett of Tipp City, OH; three brothers: Eddie (Sharon Tufts-Morgan) Morgan, Jr. of Leslie, MI, Charles (Dorothy) Morgan of Laura, OH and Tom (Sue) Morgan of Troy; three grandchildren: Rebecca Ann Garrett of Tipp City, OH and Zack and Nick Garrett of Sidney, OH; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter: Sarah Jean.

Kathleen was a 1965 graduate of Miami East High School.  She attended both Cumberland University and The Ohio State University.  Kathleen attended Lost Creek United Church of Christ of Casstown.  She worked on the Book Mobile for many years and managed Pleasant Hill Library until retiring in 2010.  Kathleen was a member of Retired Librarians Club, Hayner Cultural Center, Troy Historical Society and an amateur genealogist.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, May 23, 2014 at Baird Funeral Home of Troy.  Burial will follow in Casstown Cemetery, Casstown.  Friends may call from 6-8 PM on Thursday at the funeral home.
