Kathleen Marie Elson, age 71, formerly of Troy, Ohio; more recently of Sidney, Ohio, passed away at 2:50PM on Friday, May 18, 2012 at Dorothy Love in Sidney. She was born on February 14, 1941 in Troy, Ohio to the late Wilfred Oakley Sr. and Barbara Ann Sekyra Goodin. In 1957, she married Arthur J. Elson and he preceded her in death on November 26, 2011. In addition to her parents and spouse, Kathleen was preceded in death by her brother, Wilfred Oakley Goodin Jr. She is survived by her sister, Margaret Craig of Arcanum, Ohio; sister-in-law, JoAnn Goodin of Troy; nieces and nephews, Bill Tina Craig of Arcanum; John Marie Craig of New Paris, Connie Chuck Sturgill of Eaton, Pam Dan Mader of Troy, Tim Goodin of Troy, Mark Goodin of Troy, Diane Leon Shafer of Troy, Karen Swinehart of Troy, Matthew Marla Goodin of Troy, and numerous great nieces and nephews and cousins. Mrs. Elson was a member of the First Lutheran Church, Troy, Volksmarch Club, Garden Club, and Troy Senior Citizens. She was also a volunteer with Brukner Nature Center and she enjoyed crafts. Mrs. Elson worked in the cafeteria at Troy Junior High School. Services will be held at 2:00PM Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at Baird Funeral Home, Troy, with Pastor Ric Barnes officiating. Interment will follow in Miami Memorial Park, Covington, Ohio. Friends may call from 1:00 to 2:00PM on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at the funeral home.
