She went home to be with the Lord—Karen Louise Hughes, age 32, of Troy, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday February 4, 2009 at her residence. She was born on July 13, 1976 in Piqua, Ohio to Gary J. Hughes and Lora Persinger Hughes. She is survived by her father and step-mother, Gary J. and Robin Slone Hughes of Piqua, Ohio; mother, Lora Persinger Hughes of Troy, Ohio; paternal grandmother, Louise Hutson Hughes of Nashville, Tennessee; sister and brother-in-law, Amy and David Locke of West Milton, Ohio; brother, Matthew Hughes of Piqua, Ohio; and also survived by numerous members of her extended family. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Lenvil and Patricia Persinger, paternal grandfather, Paul Hughes and one niece, Randi Jo Hughes. Karen was a 1995 graduate of Troy High School. She was active with the American Blind Association. Karen was formerly employed by Kroger in Troy. Service will be held 2:00PM Monday, February 9, 2009 at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy with the Pastor Dale Adkins officiating. Burial will be held in Highland Cemetery, Covington, Ohio.
