Judith A. Pelton Judith A. Pelton, 68, passed away on January 21, 2013. She was born on October 26, 1944 to the late George and Jeanette Catterlin Updike in Troy, Ohio. Judy graduated Troy High School in 1962. She earned a Nursing Diploma in 1965 from the Toledo Hospital School of Nursing. Judy obtained a Bachelor's Degree from The University of Toledo in 1985 and graduated Cum Laude. She was also in the Master's in Business Program. Judy worked at the Toledo Hospital as Staff Nurse in the Emergency Dept. and then Clinical Supervisor before working her way up to Clinical Director of the Emergency Center, then advancing to Clinical Director Ambulatory Care Division. She was a teacher for the University of Toledo Community College and MCO, worked for BCBS in Utilization Management, then back to Flower Hospital/ ProMedica as Clinical Outcomes and Resource Manager/ Utilization Review Administrator, from which she retired December 31, 2010; serving over 45 years in Nursing. Judy had many interests, volunteered for Cherry Street Missions, Aldersgate UMC, The United Way, American Cancer Society and the Emergency Nurses's Association and was a long-time member of the Eastern Stars. She loved cooking, baking, travel, Broadway shows and going to the movies. In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her cousin, Theodore Updike. Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 30 years, Jim; daughters, Sue Pelton Kline and Anna John Pelton Flanigan; grandchildren, John, Matt, Elizabeth and Alexandria Kline, Brennan and Jenna Flanigan; cousins, John Updike and Sharon Mathes; furry companions, her cats, Angel and Cami and many close friends. The family will receive guests on Sunday, January 27, 2013 from 1-3:00 p.m. A funeral service will begin at 3:00 p.m. in the funeral home in Toledo, Ohio. Graveside services will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at Riverside Cemetery in Troy, Ohio.
