Judith Louise Abruzzo

Judith Louise Abruzzo, age 66, of Troy, Ohio passed away peacefully at her residence on November 28, 2013.  She was born on June 29, 1947 in St. Cloud, Minnesota to Erwin Davis of Clarkston, Michigan and the late Patricia (Ervin) Davis.

Judy is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Cara and Jarrod DePugh of Chillicothe, Ohio and son, David Brandon Abruzzo of Eaton, Ohio; sisters, Peggy (Toby) Millard of Otisville, Michigan and Nancy (Denny) Walters of Clarkston, Michigan, brother, Larry (Joann) Davis of Iola, Wisconsin; grandchildren, Jackson, Kyle, and Natalie DePugh.  She is also survived by nieces and nephews: Jenny Robak, Jeff Walters, Lydia Davis, and Clay Davis.

Judy graduated with honors from the University of Michigan with a dual major. She was a retired high school English teacher with the Troy City School system.  She attended St. Patrick Catholic Church in Troy, Ohio. Judy was a very attentive teacher who helped many students find their way to many different universities. When she wasn't teaching she could be found fishing at her lake cottage in Northern Michigan. She was fond of taking pictures of the many breathtaking sunsets at the cottage or sitting on the dock with her two beloved spaniels. She is sorely missed by her wonderful neighbors who lovingly watched over her at both her homes and by her whole family.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy, Ohio with Deacon Mike Knight officiating.  The family will receive friends from 12:00PM – 2:00PM on Saturday at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Miami County Animal Shelter.  Friends may express condolences to the family through www.bairdfuneralhome.com.
