Josephine Lenora Gaston Wells Josephine Lenora Gaston Wells, age 64, of Tipp City, Ohio passed away of Alzheimer's Disease on Sunday, September 6, 2009 at SpringMeade Nursing Home. She was born on September 19, 1944 in Distant, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Helen Gaston and the late Paul Gaston. Josie retired from the nursing field after 40 years of service, was a member of Dayton Koinonia for 25 years and a member of Stillwater United Methodist Church. Her hobbies included sewing and reading. She loved her dog, Buddy and enjoyed birds, butterflies and flowers. She enjoyed reading "Birds & Bloom" and listening to Southern Gospel music and attending Bill & Gloria Gaither concerts. She participated in the Stephen Ministry at Ginghamsburg Church. She loved the Pacific Ocean off of Oxnard, California and the Channel Islands as well as family vacations at Higgins Lake in Michigan. She also enjoyed the company of her close friends, Kay Turner and Nancy Blair Connor. Josie is survived by her husband of 44 years, Dwight C. Wells; three children and a daughter-in-law: Elizabeth Nickels of Sidney, Ohio, Marc and Kelly Wells of Urbana, Ohio and Matt Wells of Tipp City, Ohio; seven grandchildren: Katrina Wells, Melissa Wells, Patricia Nickels, Roy Jr. Nickels, Lindsey Wells, Alex Wells and Adam Wells; mother, Helen Gaston; and siblings: William Gaston of Erie, Pennsylvania, Barry Gaston of Atlanta, Georgia and Peggy Beichner of Cherry Hill, New Jersey. A memorial service will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, September 12, 2009 at Baird Funeral Home, Troy, with Pastor Duane Anders officiating. Friends may call two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. The family would especially like to thank Spring Meade and all the staff who cared for Josie and the family.
