Joseph William "Bill" Caldwell, age 84, of Troy, OH passed away on Sunday, February 14, 2016 at his residence.  He was born on December 25, 1931 in Troy, OH to the late Ezra and Juanita (Wray) Caldwell.  Bill was married to his wife of 60 years, Glenna Mae (Hershey) and she preceded him in death on July 10, 2012.

Bill is survived by his daughters and son-in-law:  Kathee Caldwell; Michelle Caldwell and Laura and David Simons all of Troy; brother:  James Franklin "Buss"(Pat) Caldwell of Casstown; sisters: Helen Smith of Troy and Kay (Harold) Swigart of IL; six grandchildren: William (Erica) Elliott of Troy;Jayne Osborne of Troy; Emily (Charlie) Ketchum of Cincinnati; Brianna Simons of Troy; Brad Pottebaum of Troy and Julianna Pottebaum of Troy; five great-grandchildren:  Madysen Osborne of Troy; Delaney Osborne of Troy; Connor Ketchum of Cincinnati; Skyler Schipper of Covington and Chance Setters of Troy.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by brothers: Robert, John (Jack) and Richard Caldwell.

Bill was a 1950 graduate of Lostcreek Schools.  He proudly served his country during the Korean War in the U. S. Air Force.  He was a member of the Casstown United Methodist Church, the American Legion and the VFW.  He was a skilled woodworker.  He enjoyed camping and in his younger years, he was an avid hunter.  He loved having fun and had quite the sense of humor.

Services will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy.  Interment will follow in Casstown Cemetery, Casstown with the veteran's honor guard services.   The family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00PM on Friday, February 19, 2016 at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the ALS Foundation.
