Jon H. Pickering, age 87, of Troy, OH passed away on August 4, 2025, at Hospice of Miami County Inpatient Unit. He was born on February 12, 1938 in Columbus, OH to the late Eunice K. Pickering.

Jon is survived by son: Jon M. Pickering of Troy; daughter: Tara L. (Donald) Babb of Xenia; grandchildren: Joshua (Laurie) Pickering, Shayla Babb and Marissa Babb; great grandchildren: Gavin Pickering, Gavin Schaare, Aubree Schaare and Bailey Nicole Ball; sister: Donna Powers of Ashland, KY.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of almost 61 years: Norma L. (Spitler) Pickering; brother: Frank Stapleton and sister Charlyne Stapleton Chappell.

Jon proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army.  He enjoyed NHRA, Fun Ford Weekend, MMRA and MMCA drag racing and was a member of the NHRA.  He retired as an appliance repairman with Roth and Short Appliances

Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday August 15, 2025, at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy with interment to follow in Miami Memorial Park, Covington.  The family will receive from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM on Friday prior to the service.
