John H. Zimmerman, age 69, of Troy, OH died Thursday, December 3, 2009 in Piqua, Ohio. He was born August 19, 1940 in Ft. Loramie, OH to the late Mathias Zimmerman and Sophia Brandewie Zimmerman. He is survived by his wife of 37 years of marriage, Edna M. Thomas Zimmerman; children, Tony Ballachino of Milford, OH and Naomi Danny Seago of Columbus, OH; brothers, Burk Zimmerman of Troy; Matt Doris Jean Zimmerman of Ft. Loramie, OH; sisters, Treva Vernon Barhorst of Minster, OH; Annette David Haraburda of Algonquin, IL; sisters-in-law, Lillian Zimmerman and Shirley Poeppelman; grandchildren, Curtis Gibson, Christin Lloyd, and Nathan Ballachino; three great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Mary Rita Clarence Poeppelman, Angela Zimmerman, Constance Sister Mathias Zimmerman; and brothers, Richard and Carl Zimmerman. He was a 1958 graduate of Ft. Loramie High School. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Troy, OH; a veteran of the US Navy having served from 1958-1962, three years aboard the USS Tirante SS420. John was formerly employed with Lunkin Airport as an airplane mechanic and licensed pilot. He has worked for the family business since 1975 at Atlas Precision Machine. Mass of Christian burial will be held 11:30 AM Monday, December 7, 2009 at the St. Patrick Catholic Church, Troy, OH with the Rev. Fr. James Duell officiating. Interment to be held at Greenlawn Cemetery, Milford, OH with a 3:00PM graveside on Monday. Friends may call at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy, OH from 5-8PM Sunday with a prayer service at 7:45PM Sunday. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Patrick Church, Troy, OH.
