Obituary

John Edward Taylor, age 68, passed away on July 5, 2021 surrounded by his family at home.  John was born on October 5, 1952 in Troy to the late Charles Edward and Marie Evelyn (Sotzing) Taylor.

He married Sandra L. (Smallenbarger) Taylor on October 3, 1970 and he loved her very much throughout their 50 ½ years together.  In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Amy (Lonny) Wilmer of Piqua and Andy (Erin) Taylor of Troy; siblings: Alice Flint of Troy; Marvin "Gene" (Lorene) Taylor of Casstown and David (Deb Poland) Taylor of St. Paris; sister-in-law: Sharon Schuryler of Dayton; brother-in-law: Rick (Joyce) Smallenbarger of Troy; grandchildren: Alexis and Emily Adkins; Connor Wooley Taylor; Caleb and Jenna Taylor; several nieces and nephews; special friends: Fred and Kathy Phyillaier of Tipp City and Kenny; Sue Donovan of Casstown and Dale and Mary Bolton.  He was preceded in death by his parents and sister: Ruth Ann Evilsizor.

John graduated from Miami East High School in 1971.  For many years John worked at Chem Lawn and Terra in Lena.  He was also co-owner in B&J Lawn Service.  Eventually, John decided to combine B&J with his son's business which became Lostcreek Lawn & Fence Company.  John worked with his son until February 2021.  John loved his 1964 Chevy Impala Super Sport, drinking PBR, listening to Johnny Cash, Tammy Wynette, Shania Twain, farming with his brother and especially his family and grandkids.

The family would like to acknowledge the wonderful care provided to John by: Dr. Matthew Vasko, Dr. Amy Mestemaker, Ohio's Hospice of Miami County staff especially Robin Leptak and the hospice crisis care staff: Diamond, Kim, Ben and Brad, on-call nurses: Peggy and Hanna, IPU nurse: Donna and Pure Health Nurse: Catherine.

John requested no service to be held.  A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.  His final resting place will be in Casstown Cemetery.
