John Stanislaw, MAJ, USAF Retired, 83, of Troy Ohio died Saturday May 29, 2010 at 10:34 PM at the Upper Valley Medical Center. He was born February 11, 1927 in Bolivar, PA. to the late John and Helen Shirille Stanislaw. He is survived by his wife of 57 years Marilyn Jones Stanislaw; three sons John J. Stanislaw of Grove City, OH, Duane Davis Stanislaw of Boise ID and David Alan Stanislaw of Troy; two grandchildren Sean Alan and Kaitlyn Marie Stanislaw; three sisters Helen Cicirello of Cleveland, OH, Vernie West of Ligonier, PA and Jean Corrin of New York City, NY; brother George Stanislaw of Ligonier, PA; numerous nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Charles and two sisters Mary and Ann. He was a 1944 graduate of Ligonier High School. John retired as a Major in the US Air Force after 20 years of service to his country and as a corporate pilot for 20 years with both Executive Jet Aviation and Mead Paper Corporation. He was a member of both the Order of Daedalians and Ye Ancient and Secret Order of Quiet Birdmen. Private services will be held at a later date with military honors to follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens in Vandalia.
