John Wilson Soutar, age 87, of Troy, OH passed away on September 27, 2025 at Hospice of Miami County Inpatient. He was born on August 20, 1938 in Sewickley, PA to the late Alister and Beatrice (Duffy) Soutar.

John is survived by his wife of 63 years: Shirley Ann (Hetrick) Soutar of Troy; children: Tammy Sirch of Troy, Scott (Kate) Soutar of West Chester, Duffy (Aimee) Soutar of Troy, and Todd (Chatham) Soutar of Cincinnati; grandchildren: Samantha (Seth) Boehringer, Kyle Sirch, Jessica (Casey) Moats, Leah Soutar, Brett (Heather) Smith, Alisen Soutar, Riley Soutar, Brooke Soutar, Nicole Soutar, and Gracie Nguyen; great grandchildren: Logan Boehringer, Raegan Boehringer, Stella Boehringer, Connor Boehringer, Kyle Joseph Sirch, Lily Moats, Brooks Moats, and Bryce Smith; and siblings: James Soutar of Wilmington, DE and Sheila Broman of Corapolis, PA. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his brother: Alister Soutar.

John proudly served in the US Air Force. He was a graduate of Gannon University. John worked as a purchasing manager at Hobart Corp. for 10 years before he retired and sold his company, Denizen in Piqua. He was member and held a role as president of Troy Toastmasters Club and Dayton Purchasing Management Association and an active member and consultant for SCORE. John was also a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Troy. In his free time, John loved photography and watching auto racing.

Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, October 6, 2025 at Calvary Baptist Church, 1045 Monroe-Concord Rd., Troy, OH 45373 with Pastor Greg Steinke officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM on Monday at the church.
