John L. Scarbrough, age 86, of Troy, OH passed away on December 29, 2024 at Hospice of Miami County.  He was born on January 5, 1938 in Coffee County, AL to the late Grover Cleveland and Idell (Jackson) Scarbrough.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years: Vickie (Quinn) Scarbrough; daughter: Sharon Ann Scarbrough Merrill of Chattanooga, TN; three grandchildren: Gregory (Kendal) Merrill, Jeremy (Ashley) Merrill and Bethany Merrill; and three great grandchildren: Caleb, Kahlan and Cassidy; and extended family.

John enjoyed fishing and going for walks.  He was previously employed at Dinner Bell Foods.

Service will be held at 1:30 PM on Friday, January 3, 2025, at Baird Funeral Home, Troy with interment to follow in Riverside Cemetery, Troy.  The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM on Thursday and 12:00-1:30 PM on Friday at the funeral home.
