John W. Roberts, 60 years old, of Casstown, Ohio died unexpectedly Saturday, September 9, 2000 at the Upper Valley Medical Center ER, Troy, OH. Born July 25, 1940 in Tipp City, Ohio.
Survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Alice M. Sexton Roberts; daughters and sons-in-law, Lynn Roberts and Jeremy Baker of London, OH and Dawn M. and Larry E. Shope of Bellbrook, OH and granddaughter, Angela M. Lewis. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mabel Simmons Roberts.
Employed as a tool and die maker at S.M.T. Industries in Sidney, OH. Mr. Roberts was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in Korea. He was a member of the AmVets, Post #88, Troy; Troy Fish and Game Club and V.F.W. Post #6557, Pleasant Hill.
A loving father, husband, grandfather and friend, he will be greatly missed.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 12, 2000 at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy with Pastor Robert Penrod officiating. Burial in Casstown Cemetery, Casstown, OH with VFW Honor Guard services at the graveside. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12 noon until 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
