John Edgar McKinney John Edgar McKinney, age 86, of Troy, Ohio passed away unexpectedly at 10:00PM on Saturday, January 9, 2010 at his residence. He was born on November 27, 1923 in Piqua, Ohio, to the late Charles and Caroline Woods McKinney. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his first wife, Clara Long McKinney in 1972 and his second wife, Norma Young Subler McKinney in 2008. He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Don Hoening of San Antonio, Texas; one son and daughter-in-law, John W. and Beverly McKinney of St. Paris, Ohio; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Clifford McKinney of Springfield, Ohio and Charles and Barbara McKinney of Troy; sister-in-law, Mary Long of Troy; six grandchildren: Jennifer Brad Fielder, Amanda Ben Croson, Jason McKinney, Nathan Lisa Hoening, Jeff Amy Hoening and Adam Hoening; seven step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and numerous step great-grandchildren. John was a 1942 graduate of Staunton High School. He was a US Merchant Marine Veteran of WWII and a member of the Union Baptist Church. He retired in 1985 from AO Smith after 20 years of service. Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Thursday, January 14, 2010 at Baird Funeral Home, Troy, with interment to follow in Miami Memorial Park, Covington, Ohio.
