John W. McEowen, 80, of Troy, Ohio passed out of this life on April 1, 2004 at the SpringMeade Healthcare Center in Tipp City, Ohio. He was born on Novermber 3, 1923 in Rossburg, Ohio to the late Everett and Mary Bose McEowen. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jennie Lou Johnson McEowen and his two children; Daughter and Son-in-law: Sherri and Tony Allen of Troy,Ohio and son and daughter-in-law: Doug and Marie McEowen of Troy, Ohio. Also surviving are brother and sister-in-law; Lester & Phyllis McEowen of Lena, Ohio; sisters and brother-in-law; Letha & Don Maggert of Lena, Ohio and Beatrice Crust of San Diego, CA. He had four grandchildren, Jason Allen, Julie Torreon Owens, Joel Allen and Rachel McEowen. He also has two step-grandchildren; Jennifer Monroe and Bryan Brenner; three great great grandchildren, Morgan & Gabriel Allen and Jaden Owens. He was preceeded in deathy by twin daughters. He was a member of the First United Church of Christ, Troy, Ohio and a member of the Franklin Lodge #14 F&AM lifetime member of the VFW Post #5436 & DAV; served in the US Army in Italy during W.W. II; and a member of Waco flying club. He was a graduate of Lena-Conover Schools. He attended Aircraft Avionics Technical School in Chicago. He retired after 35 years from the Ohio Aviation Company in Vandalia, Ohio. The Rev. Al Bastin will be officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Troy. There will be special services held, Franklin Lodge Service on Sunday, April 4, 2004 at 5:45pm at the funeral home, and Veteran Memorial Honor Guard Service at the cemetery.
