John P. "Bud" Lesch John P. "Bud" Lesch, age 71, of Troy, Ohio, passed away at 5:06AM on Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at his residence. He was born on July 6, 1938 in Springfield, Ohio to the late Harold and Helen Smith Lesch. His wife of 48 years, Joyce DeWeese Lesch, survives. In addition to his wife, Joyce, Bud is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Kim and John Iddings of Pleasant Hill, Ohio; grandson, Bobby Gerodimos of Pleasant Hill; sister, Marilyn Lookabaugh Bowers of Springfield, Ohio; father-in-law, Richard DeWeese of Troy; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Denny and Debbie DeWeese of Troy; four nephews and three nieces: Mark Jenny Lookabaugh of Dublin, Ohio, Steve Angie Lookabaugh of Hilliard, Ohio, Tom Rita Lookabaugh, Jim Lookabaugh and Carol Scott Allen all of Springfield and Daisy Jason Gatt and Deanna DeWeese all of N. Carolina; seven great-nephews and one great-niece; and very special friends, Denny and Jenny Ventura of Covington, Ohio and Fred Meadows of Troy. Bud was a 1956 graduate of Springfield High School and attended The Ohio State University and Purdue University. He was recognized as being "Newspaper Boy of the Year" for the Springfield Daily News in 1952. He was a member of the Anthony Masonic Lodge in Springfield, the Antioch Shrine Temple, Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton, AMVETS Post #88, and Troy Fish & Game. He was a former 4-H Advisor in Miami County and a member of the Casstown Volunteer Fire Department. Bud retired from the Miami County Engineer's office where he served as County Road Superintendent and Deputy Engineer. He formerly worked for G. S. Lambert Engineering in Springfield and the City of Fairborn. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, July 25, 2009 at Baird Funeral Home, Troy with Rev. Ed Ellis officiating. Interment will follow in Casstown Cemetery, Casstown, Ohio. Friends may call from 4-7PM on Friday at the funeral home. Masonic Services will also be held Friday evening at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Miami County, P.O. Box 502, Troy, Ohio 45373 and the Masonic Temple Learning Center of Dayton, Ohio.
