John M. Gormley, Sr. is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mildred; sons and daughters-in-law, John and Becky Gormley, Stephen C. and Dawn Gormley; brother, Prentiss Gormley; sisters, Meredyth Gobba, Alice Schafer and Joanna Lancaster; four grandchildren, Jesse and wife, Dixie Gormley, Soren and wife Nicole Gormley, Shawn Gormley and Kimberly Gormley.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde G. and Florence Prentiss Gormley and a sister, Winifred Shelton.

Mr. Gormley was a member, elder and trustee and past President of the men's association of First Presbyterian Church, Troy; former Boy Scout Master; member of Troy Kiwanis for over 40 years; former member of Troy Chamber of Commerce; member of Troy VFW and Miami County Home Builders Association; organized the Dollars for Scholars in Troy.  He was a Navy Veteran,WWII, serving on a destroyer in the Pacific and Atlantic Theater.

Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Troy. Contributions to First Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund or Dollars for Scholars.
