John H. Goodman John H. Goodman, 80, of Troy, Ohio, passed away Sunday, October 28, 2007. He was born July 6, 1927 in Jacksonville, Ohio, to the late William and Edith Showalter Goodman. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Wilma Ball Goodman; sons: Terry Jean Goodman of McArthur, Ohio and Larry Kathy Goodman of Troy, Ohio; daughter, Lorilee Goodman of Troy, Ohio; and grandchildren: Shane Wendi Goodman, Tara Stephen Richards, Ryan Goodman, Randy Lauren Goodman, Carmen Bartoe and Keith Tabitha Martin; six great-grandchildren; and a long-time childhood friend, Charles Cochran of The Plains, Ohio. In addition to his parents, Mr. Goodman was preceded in death by his brother, Bill Goodman, sister, Edna West, and a great-grandchild, Ayden Howard. He was a graduate of The Plains High School. Mr. Goodman was also a past member of Troy Kiwanis and a 50 year member of the Amesville Masonic Temple. He loved NASCAR racing, reading and gardening. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Mr. Goodman retired from GTE in 1987 after 40 years of service and was a US Army veteran. Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM Thursday, November 1, 2007, at Baird Funeral Home, Troy, with Pastor Dan Poole officiating. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery, Troy, with VFW Memorial Honor Guard. Friends may call from 5-7PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
