John K. ''Jack'' Bertling, age 75 of Troy and formerly of Kettering, Ohio died Friday, October 10, 2003 at the Koester Pavilion, Troy. Born of the late, Alvin and Mary Wehner Bertling in Dayton. He was married to Alice J. McClurg for 53 years who survives. He is also survived by his children, Mary Ann and Terry Burdine and Michael K. and Nancy Bertling; grandchildren, Carolyn Bertling; Daniel Bertling; Laura Sheehan; Douglas Bertling; Kevin Sheehan and great-granddaughter, MiKala Sheehan; numerous friends and family members. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Thomas and one sister, Elaine Miller. A member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church, he was a 1946 graduate of Chaminade High School. Formerly employed with Pantorium Cleaners in Dayton, he and his wife were the former owners of Leiss Cleaners in Tipp City. Jack will be sadly missed by friends and family. The family extends its appreciation to the loving staff at the Koester Pavilion for his care. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Miami County or donor's choice of charity.
