Johanna Schenk, age 91, of Troy, Ohio; formerly of Lima, Ohio died February 25, 2012 at the Koester Pavilion, Troy, Ohio. She was born February 24, 1921 in Rotterdam, Holland to the late Petrus and Dyna Snikkers DeRaad. Johanna married Martinus Schenk on September 12, 1941. She and her husband as well as his five siblings immigrated to the United States in 1952. She was preceded in death by her husband on July 30, 2000 and two brothers and three sisters. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Martin P. and Joyce L. Schenk of The Villages, Florida; granddaughters, Elizabeth A. Schenk of Lakeview, Oregon and Mary K. Hackney of Troy; grandsons, Martin R. Schenk of Perry, Ohio and Michael D. Schenk of Troy; eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews both in Holland and in the United States. Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:30PM on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to the Miami County Humane Society.
