Johann Marko Johann Marko, age 74, of Ludlow Falls, Ohio, passed away at 9:30AM on Thursday, April 29, 2010. He was born on August 17, 1935 in Radautz, Romania. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Esther Small Marko of Ludlow Falls; one son, Jason Marko of Troy, Ohio; brothers and sisters: Eva Atwell of Delphos, Kansas, Henry Schmalenberg of Troy, Fred Schmalenberg of Jacksonville, Florida, Adolf Marko of Cincinnati, Ohio, Karl Marko of Covington, Ohio, Inge Voisard of Troy, Hannelore Zimmerman of Troy, Ottmar Marko of Troy, Helmut Marko of Tipp City, Ohio, and Hilda Rice of Pleasant Hill, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his uncle and aunt, Karl and Hilda Marko and one sister, Lura Sarich. Johann was a member and president of the German Club Edelweiss in Englewood, Ohio. He was a US Army veteran having served in France. He established and has owned Characters, Inc. in Troy since 1961. Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM on Monday, May 3, 2010 at Baird Funeral Home, Troy, with interment to follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Pleasant Hill, Ohio. Rev. Ric Barnes will officiate.
