Job "Jim" Mitchell Jr., 96 of Greenville, passed away at his residence on Monday, December 12, 2022. He was born on June 9, 1926 in Dawn, OH to the late Cyrus Job and Ethel (Alexander) Mitchell.

He is survived by his wife Margaret (Ford) Mitchell; daughters: Marcia (Pat) Shanesy and Christy Baird; daughter-in-law: Tena Mitchell; grandchildren: Jim Shanesy, Lori Shanesy,  Sean Mitchell and Megan (Josh) Mitchell-Hall; two great grandchildren: Oliver and Violet; step children: Jeff Hile and Laura (Ron) Turner; step son-in-law: Ted Peters; eight step grandchildren and ten step great grandchildren; siblings: Joann Cecil, Barbara Young and Dick Mitchell.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife: Violet "Betty" Mitchell; son: Michael Job Mitchell; son-in-law: Edward Baird; stepdaughter:  Susan Peters; and siblings: George, Paul and Bob Mitchell and Betty Brandt.

Jim was a World War II, US Navy veteran.  He attended Trinity Wesleyan and Radiant Lighthouse in Greenville. He served as an assistant scout master and enjoyed fishing and traveling.  He worked as a senior industrial engineer with GM.

Funeral service will be held Thursday, December 15, 2022 at 6:30 PM at Baird Funeral Home, Troy with Pastor Wes Lynch officiating. Private interment will follow at a later date at Miami Memorial Park in Covington.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM on Thursday at the funeral home.
