Obituary

Jimmie A. Owens OWENS, Jimmie A., 66, of Tipp City, passed away at 1:50 PM Wednesday, June 6, 2007, at Hospice of Dayton after a brief illness. He was born June 19, 1940, in Grundy, Virginia to L. Pauline Woolum Owens Leas and the late Benjamin Frank Owens. Jimmie was married to RoVella Beauch Owens, who passed away in 2004. He is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Allene Bowman & George Shaw of Troy and Pam & Sonny Ashton of Jackson; son and daughter-in-law, Tim & Carol Owens of Troy; step-daughter and son-in-law, Pam & Kenny Wilson of Centerville; sister and brother-in-law, Wanda & Paul Napier of Troy; 6 grandchildren, Jason Bowman, Brittney & husband, James Couch, Christopher Meldau, TJ & Shelby Owens and Daniel Shaw; step-grandchildren, Jordan and Katelyn Wilson and 3 great-grandchildren, Taylen, Mikayla, and Lexi Couch. Jimmie was a member of the Franklin Lodge F&AM #14, Antioch Shriners, Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons of Ohio, Knights Templar, Grand Council Royal and Select Masons of Ohio and a Veteran of the US Navy stationed in Newfoundland. He was also the owner and operator of Jim's Towing and Recovery. He formerly owned Jim's Shell, Jim's Sunoco and Jim's Marathon providing over 40 years of service to the Troy community. Services will be held at 5:00 PM Sunday, June 10, 2007 at Baird Funeral Home, Troy with Brother Paul Napier officiating. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-5 PM. Donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton in Jimmie's memory. Arrangements are being handled by Baird Funeral Home, Troy.
