IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jewel "Betty"
Poland
April 11, 1958 – December 2, 2020
On Wednesday, December 2, 2020, Jewel "Betty" Poland a loving sister, sister-in-law, aunt, cousin and friend of many passed away to her eternal home at her earthly age of 62. She had an extended illness and a battle with cancer.
Jewel, as most knew her, was born April 11, 1958 to Harold L. Poland and Martha J. (Fogt) Poland in Troy, Ohio. Jewel never married other than to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, as she is part of His heavenly bride.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Bobbie Dean (Poland) Morgan. She has left behind her beloved friend companion Duke, (her German Shepard), brother Harold L. Poland II, sister-in-law Candy (Anderson) Poland, as well as her nieces, nephews, cousins from Ohio, as well as through out the United States, friends and loved ones from all parts of the country.
Jewel loved nature, animals and people of all ages. She never met a stranger and always had a gift of childlikeness along with its innocence. She helped people to see the most valuable things in life are not bought or sold, but gifts of the heart like kindness, love, peace, and family. Priceless.
She loved horses, German Shepards, reading, coloring, biking, and walking her beloved Duke. She had ability with music to the point of hearing a song and could put it to memory and there it would stay. She may hear the same song years later and could tell you all about it, including when it was written. When out for a drive in the country if there were horses in a field, she could tell you the breed and about the breed from her hours spent reading about horses.
Heaven has truly been given a gift and we have lost a true "love" and friend. She will be sorely missed.
She told us to all be ready so we can follow her in her newly found adventure. For her, no time will have passed when we finally arrive to be with her but for us, we will think of her most days of our lives on this side of heaven.
There will be a graveside service Friday, December 11 at 11:00AM at the Riverside Cemetery in Troy, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hospice of Miami County, PO Box 502, Troy, Ohio 45373 or give online on behalf of Jewel B. Poland.
