Jerry W. Miller, age 70, of DeGraff, OH, passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at his residence. He was born in Scott County, TN on May, 10, 1943 to the late James William and Myrtle May (Dowker) Miller. On December 23, 1976 in Piqua, he married Patty A. Dotson. She survives.
In addition to his wife, Jerry is survived by one daughter and son-in-law: Tammy W. and Gary Parker; four grandchildren: Davvid A. Brandt, Jessica M. Brandt, Christopher Parker, Madison Parker; two step grandchildren: Alexis L. Parker and Logan R. Parker; two brothers: James L. Miller, New Carlisle and Gordon Miller, TN; two sisters: Loran Davis, TN and Dorthy Setters, Franklin, OH; father-in-law: James T. Dotson, DeGraff, OH; numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers: Charles C. Miller, Alvin T. Miller, Leland C. Miller, Lonnie R. Miller, Roger A. Miller and Larry C. Miller; one sister: Ellen Miller; and his mother-in-law: Wamena Dotson.
Jerry proudly served his country as a member of the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was a Burrville Forest Ranger and a Volunteer Firefighter in Tennessee. Jerry was a truck driver and traveled all over the US. He worked several places including manufacturing Model Homes in Oregon, Ray Jax Manufacturing, Tipp City, West Market Sohio, Troy, OH and Kimberly Clark-Brown Bridge, Troy, OH. Jerry was a Pro Wrestler in training know as "Flying Dutchman" in Oregon. He wrestled alongside his partner Jimmy "Superfly" Snooka. Jerry was a wonderful father and grandfather.
Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, February 3, 2014 at Riverside Cemetery Chapel, Troy, OH with Rev. Philip Chilcote officiating. Family and friends may call from 1-2 PM on Monday at the Chapel. Arrangements are being handled by Baird Funeral Home, Troy, OH.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Baird Funeral Home, 555 N. Market Street, Troy, OH 45373 to assist with funeral arrangements. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.bairdfuneralhome.com .
