Jerry Lee Grooms, 62 of Fletcher, Ohio died Saturday, December 12, 2009 at his residence following a short illness. He was born December 30, 1946 in Columbus, Ohio to Bernice Loella Jodrey Grooms of Columbus, Ohio and the late Howard Olen Grooms. He is survived by his wife of 39 years Nancy Marie Vonville Grooms; son and daughter-in-law: Anthony L. and Angela Grooms of Fletcher, Ohio; daughter and son-in-law: Tammy L. and David Thompson of Troy, Ohio; sister: Debbie A. and Dale Swicegood of Columbus, Ohio; brother: Dennis H. and Linda Grooms of West Jefferson, Ohio; three grandchildren: Tyler Grooms, Kaitlyn and Kassidy Thompson. He was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in Germany; member of AMVETS 88; Troy Fish and Game; VFW Post 5436, Troy; Troy Moose Lodge 2611, Troy; BPOE Elks Lodge 833, Troy. He retired in 2009 as a sales representative with Motion Industries after 40 years of service. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at Glen Rest Memorial Estate in Reynoldsburg, Ohio. Friends may call on the family at Baird Funeral Home Tuesday December 15 , 2009 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM.
