Jennie Lou McEowen, age 82, of Troy, Ohio died Friday, November 7, 2008 at SpringMeade Health Care Center, Tipp City, Ohio. She was born March 24, 1926 in Sadieville, Kentucky to the late Stamper Johnson and Gertrude White Johnson. She was married to John W. McEowen, her husband of 56 years who preceded her in death on April 1, 2004. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sherri and Tony Allen of Troy and son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Marie McEowen of Troy; four grandchildren, Jason Allen, Julie and Torreon Owens, Joel Allen and Rachel McEowen; two step-grandchildren, Jennifer Monroe and Bryan Brenner; and six great-grandchildren, Morgan, Gabriel, and Graci Allen; Jaden and Evan Owens; and Rachel McEowen. In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. McEowen was preceded in death by twin daughters. She was a member of the First United Church of Christ, Troy, Ohio and the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter #256, Troy. A graduate of Georgetown College, Kentucky with a degree in education, she was a retired school teacher with the Troy City Schools and a former teacher's aide at Hook Elementary School for many years. Funeral service will be held 10:30AM Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at the First United Church of Christ, Troy with the Rev. Al Bastin officiating. Interment to be held in the Riverside Cemetery, Troy.
