Jeannie A. Forney Jeannie A. Forney, age 72, of Troy, Ohio, passed away at 9:20AM on Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at her residence. She was born on January 7, 1938 in Benson, Minnesota to the late Reuben and Hazel Swanburg Erdman. Her husband of 43 years, Donald M. Forney Jr., survives. Other survivors include her daughter, Nan Forney Smith of Troy; son, Robert Forney of Troy; stepson, David Nokes of Washington DC; brother, Donald Erdman of Atwater, California; and three grandchildren: Kiya, Jacob and Hanah. In addition to her parents, Jeannie was preceded in death by one brother, David Erdman. She attended the University of Minnesota. She was a member of Ginghamsburg Church; a lay pastor, a leader of the Lay Ministry, and a small group leader at the church. She was a former member of the District Committee of the United Methodist Church. She was former board member of the New Creations Counseling Center. She was a lifetime mentor. Jeannie was formerly employed as personnel manager with Sears and Roebuck Company and was instrumental in the opening of the Salem Mall location. A funeral service will be held at 3:00PM on Saturday, December 11, 2010 at Ginghamsburg Church, South Campus, 7695 South County Road 25A, Tipp City, Ohio 45371, with John Jung and Ralph Harrod officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Troy. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00PM on Saturday at the church.
