Jeanne (Baker) Harrelson, age 93 of Troy, OH passed away Saturday, October 25, 2014 at 2:35 pm at Clare Bridge of Troy. She was born June 25, 1921 in Painter's Creek, OH to the late S. DeWitt and E. Margaret Flory Baker. In addition to her parents, Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband, William M. Harrelson, in 1985 and a son, William M. Harrelson Jr.
Jeanne is survived by four children: Anne Harrelson Stein of Cincinnati, Thomas McRae Harrelson (Linda) of San Carlos, CA, Margie Harrelson Phillips of Tyler, TX and Robert McAllum Harrelson (Laura) of Troy; one sister: Doris Ann Blackmore; ten grandchildren: Sydney Stein McLafferty (Scott), Jos Stein (Stacy), Thomas and Maggie Harrelson, Megan and Caitlin Phillips and William, John (Amanda), Robert, and Julia Harrelson; five great grandchildren: Grady and Rory McLafferty and Harrison, David, and Andrew Stein.
Jeanne was a graduate of Troy High School. She attended Ohio Wesleyan University and graduated from Purdue University. She was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority, a former Deacon of the First Presbyterian Church of Troy, Troy Current Events for 46 years, Discussion Club, Bowling League, several bridge clubs and a long-time member of Troy Country Club. Jeanne volunteered at Shepherds Center while residing in Innisbrook Resort in Tarpon Springs, FL.
Funeral Services will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dr. Richard Culp officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Troy. Friends may call on the family from 4-6 PM on Friday at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy.
