Foster Troy, Ohio- Mr. Jay Daniel Foster, 85, of Swan Creek Road, Hamptonville, NC, and formerly of Troy, Ohio, passed away Tuesday March 8, 2005 at Forsyth Medical Center, In Winston-Salem, NC. He was born April 21, 1919 in Wilkes County, NC to the late Ed and Ethel Marie Glass Foster. Mr. Foster worked in Troy, Ohio with the Troy Ice and Coal Company, and worked from 1943-1980 at the Brown Ridge, Kimberly-Clark Plant. He attended Swan Creek Baptist Church as long as his health permitted. Mr. Foster enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was an avid Rook Player. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Drake Foster; and by 2 brothers, Claude Foster and Coy Foster. Surviving are his son, Keith Jay Foster, of Troy, Ohio; his sister, Pauline Phelix Swaim, Hamptonville; 5 nephews, Wayne Frankie Foster; Dallas Kathryn Foster; Phil Sylvia Foster; Ray Willa Foster; Lee Julie Swaim; and 3 nieces, Joyce Dalton, Anna Fieselman, and Sandra Burton. His funeral service will be held 7:00 PM Thursday at the Gentry Family Chapel by Rev. Tim White and D.C. Swaim. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 PM Thursday before the service at Gentry Family Funeral Service on Little Mountain Road in Jonesville, NC. Private Burial will be held at Miami Memorial Park, Covington, Ohio, Saturday March 12, 2005 at 10:30AM with Baird Funeral Home, Troy, Ohio in charge of local arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials may be made to Elkin Health Care Center, Jay Foster Memorial Fund, 560 Johnson Ridge Road, Elkin, NC 28621.
