To her immense joy, a second great-grandson, Damian, is expected in November.
Her remaining family lives on to carry out her legacy of kindness, generosity, and love.
Janet was born September 30, 1941 in Elizabeth Township and was one of the eight children born to Charles & Martha (Schaefer) Burnside. Her siblings: David, Marvin, Donald, Barbara, Judith, and Robert, have all preceded her in death, with one surviving brother: Douglas; and sister-in-law: Ann (Harshbarger) Burnside; and one widowed sister-in-law: Joan (Howard) Burnside, remain. Janet adored all her numerous nieces and nephews!
She was a 1959 graduate of Miami East High School and was inducted into the National Honor Society. In addition to being a Homemaker, Janet worked for many years at the Captor Corporation in Tipp City. She was a hard worker and worked for various factories and then went on to clean businesses and office buildings as a secondary career later in life.
She liked to stay busy, and before her illness, always had "a place for everything and everything in its place", as her dad liked to often say about her.
She will be greatly missed by all who know her. Friends and family alike will remember her quick wit and humor and the deep love she had for her family. We are all better for having her in our lives!
Friends and family will be received from 4:00-6:00 PM on Friday, August 23, 2024, at Baird Funeral Home in Troy, Ohio and will be followed by a memorial service at 6:00 PM, to be officiated by Pastor Rich Baker.
