Janet Kathryn (Gaier) Mengos, age 95, of Troy, OH passed away on August 4, 2025 in Troy.  She was born on July 21, 1930 in Troy to the late William and Helen (Sekyra) Gaier.

She is survived by her three children: Tony Mengos and Nick Mengos (Therese) both of Troy and Mimi (Mengos) Torello (Chris) of Lebanon; three grandchildren: Katie Taylor (Joe Taylor), Hannah Mengos and Luke Mengos (Jessica Wagner-Mengos) and two great grandchildren: Vivian and Camille Taylor.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years of marriage: Spero Leo Mengos and her sister: Peggy Lauber.

Janet was a graduate of Troy High School and the Ray Vogue Art School on Michigan Avenue in Chicago, IL.  She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Troy.  Along with her husband, she was the former co-owner of the Staunton Country Store before turning the business over to their son, Tony. She was formerly employed with the City of Troy and Aero Products in Vandalia.

She will be remembered in every small act of kindness, every Sunday meal shared with generations, and every familiar song that brings a smile.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM - 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 9, 2025 at Baird Funeral Home in Troy with the service at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow in Casstown Cemetery.
