James L. Scaggs, age 77, of Troy, passed away on February 4, 2022 at Kettering Medical Center. He was born on December 23, 1944 in Troy, OH to the late Orville J. and Lillie (Rakes) Scaggs.

James is survived by his wife of 58 years: Ruth Ann (Partin) Scaggs of Troy; son: Todd (Anne) Scaggs of Troy; siblings: Alice (Eugene) Bauer of Findley, Betty Stewart of Troy; and grandchildren: Savannah Scaggs, Isabella Scaggs, Gage (Hailey) McCann, and Elise McCann. James was preceded in death by his son: James Eric Scaggs.

James retired from BF Goodrich. He was a lifetime member of Troy Fish and Game and a member of Calvary United Baptist Church in Sidney. James enjoyed fishing. He loved his grandkids more than anything.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at Baird Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Troy. Visitation will be from 10:00-12:00 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home.
