James Paul Rogers, 75, of Troy, Ohio passed out of this life on Saturday, January 3, 2004 at the Upper Valley Medical Center in Troy, Ohio. He was born on April 19, 1928 to the late William and Effie Mae Baker Rogers in Mt. Pilot, Kentucky. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Rita Nash Rogers; 2 children, Debra Elaine Thornton of Summerville, SC; and son and daughter-in-law: Terry L. and Leslie Rogers of Dayton, Ohio. Also surviving are 3 brothers; Raymond Rogers of Stanton, Kentucky; Gary Rogers of Bluffton, Ind; Kenneth Rogers of Xenia, Ohio; 2 sisters; Gladys Townsend of Stanton, Kentucky and Wanda Smith of Richmond, Kentucky. He has 3 granddaughters: Stacie Thornton, Charity and husband Darrel Wiggins, and Raina and husband Todd Shultheis. One great-grandson, Drayton Wiggins. He is survived by many wonderful and caring friends and his beloved canine companion Angel. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers William Rogers Jr. and Elijah Hargis Jackson, and 2 sisters Mary Arnice Kalar and Wilma Rogers. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church; US Army Veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Korean War Vets. He retired in 1988 as a Baker/Shipping and receiving clerk with Continental Baking. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Troy, Ohio. There will be Military Honors at the cemetery. In Lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Patrick Catholic Church or the Korean War Veterans.
