IN LOVING MEMORY OF
James "Jim"
Richard Wilson
January 18, 1941 – July 12, 2025
James "Jim" Richard Wilson, age 84, of Troy, Ohio, passed away peacefully at Van Crest Nursing Home. Born on January 18, 1941, in Sidney, Ohio, Jim was the son of the late Nelson R. and Geraldine (Wyer) Wilson.
Jim was a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who worked hard every day of his life to care for the people he loved. Whether he was on the job in construction or fixing things around the house, he had a knack for building and repairing just about anything—and often did.
He found joy in the simple things: casting a fishing line, setting up camp under the stars, or tending to the bountiful vegetable garden he grew each year with great pride. He loved sharing these passions with his grandchildren, teaching them how to shoot a bow, build a proper campfire, and appreciate the quiet satisfaction of a well-done task.
Jim was also known for his wry wit and dry sense of humor, always quick with a clever comment that made you either smile or roll your eyes. He was a fan of classic movies, especially old westerns, and was an avid reader.
He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Debra and Sam Silvers of Troy and Kimberly and Adam Lind of Garden Valley, California; his sister Judy Helmer of Albuquerque, New Mexico; his brother Jack Wilson of Auburn Hills, Michigan; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Sue VanFossen, and his brother Robert Wilson.
Jim was a member of First Baptist Church in Sidney. In keeping with his wishes, no public services will be held.
