James W. Ratliff James W. Ratliff, age 67, of Troy, Ohio, passed away at 6:29PM on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at his residence following a brief illness. He was born on December 4, 1945 in Sandy Hook, Kentucky, to the late William Forrester Ratliff and Dorothy Bell Elliott DeLong. His wife of nearly 50 years, Miriam A. Nuss Ratliff, survives. Other survivors include his daughter, Billie Raegan Ratliff of Troy; son, Thaniel J. Ratliff of Troy; one brother and sister-in-law, Vernon E. and Connie Sue Ratliff of Troy; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Linda Sue Ratliff of Tipp City, Ohio, Mary Lou Havener of Stonewall, Oklahoma, and Bernadette and Eric Meyer of Houston, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a US Army Veteran having served in Korea, and he attended Tipp City Church of the Nazarene. James retired from the Wright Patterson Air Force Base. He was a good husband, father, and brother, and he had a big heart. Services will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Baird Funeral Home, Troy, with Pastor Bradley W. Warkentine officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Troy, with VFW Memorial Honor Guard services at the graveside. Friends may call from 6-8PM on Friday at the funeral home.
