James E. Niswonger, age 84, of Troy, OH passed away on February 20, 2025 at Koester Pavilion.  He was born on July 3, 1940 in Darke County, OH to the late Ray and Pauline (Thomas) Niswonger.

Jim is survived by his wife of 59 years: Josephine (Worley) Niswonger; grandchildren: Sarah, Andrea, Katelyn, Thomas and one great-grandchild; sister: Janet (Roger) Overholser and their daughter Kari Mickle; brother: Bill Niswonger and their children: Tim and Shane Niswonger.

Jim was a 1959 graduate of Troy High School.  He served in the US Army and was based in the Philippines.  He was a member of the First United Baptist Church in Lockington.  Jim retired from Hobart Brothers Company.  He loved woodworking, making little toys and selling them at flea markets.

A Private Service will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Miami County.
