James W. Metz, 79, of Troy, Ohio died Tues. 1/19/1999.  He was born 12/3/1919 in Armstrong, PA. to the late Peter and Maggie Suzanne Downing Metz.  Mr. Metz is survived by:  3 children; Sally A. Shaeffer of Troy, OH, Mary Alice Metz of Troy, OH and James A. Metz of Upper Sandusky, OH; 3 brothers; Henry Metz of New Castle, PA., Floyd Metz of Distant, PA., and Roscoe Metz of Pugulsne PA.; 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his wife Sara L. Shick in 1984; brother, Chuck Metz and sisters, Bess Johnson, Mae Johnson, Helen Davis and Gladys Cahill.  James Metz was a member of the American Legion and VFW of Hancock, Maryland and was a US Navy Veteran.  Mr. Metz furthered his education in Master Mechanic Schooling.  He was formerly employed with the Holloway Co.  Services will be held on Fri. 1/22/1999 at1:30 PM at the Raisley Funeral Home in Prospect, Pa. with the Rev. Dan Reuter officiating.  Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Mt. Chestnut, Pa.  Friends may call at Baird Funeral Home from 7 to 8 PM Wed. 1/20/1999 or at the Raisley Funeral Home Fri. 1/22/1999 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM.  Local arrangements are being handled by Baird Funeral Home, 555 N.
