James E. McConnell, age 86, of Troy, passed away on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at the Hospice of Miami County Inpatient Unit.  Jim was born May 1, 1932 in Covington, Ohio to the late Isaac J. and Gladys (Supinger) McConnell.  He was married to his wife of 43 years: Barbara Ann "Bobbie" (Miller) McConnell and she preceded him on December 17, 1999.

Jim is survived by his son and daughter-in-law: Scott and Rebecca McConnell and daughters and sons-in-law: Kim and Jamie Pugh and Lori and Bruce Rademachir all of Troy; grandchildren: Brad Pugh, Kati Redick, Sarah Wittman, Mary Rademachir, Andy McConnell, and Julie Pugh Fellers and 6 great grandchildren.

Jim was a US Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He was a successful State Farm Agent for 25 years, working alongside his wife, Bobbie, the "love of his life".  He was a great pitcher at Covington High School and asked to tryout for the St. Louis Cardinals.  He loved all things sports and was a devoted Cleveland Browns fan.  He loved his family and will be greatly missed.
