James Wm. Grove James Wm. Grove, age 91, formerly of Troy, Ohio, more recently of Sidney, Ohio, passed away on January 22, 2013 at Dorothy Love Retirement Community, Sidney. He was born on March 2, 1921 in Troy, to the late Benjamin and Ruth Brinkman Grove. He married Susannah P. McBride on March 29, 1952 and she preceded him in death on February 24, 2001. He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, David James and Emma Grove of Fallston, Maryland; one daughter and son-in-law, Sara R. and John McNabb of Piqua, Ohio; two brothers and three sisters-in-law, Emory and Gwen Grove of Sidney, Ohio, and Harold and Roberta Grove of Brewer, Maine; and Phyllis Grove of Troy; six grandchildren: Robin Darryl Meyer, Michael Jill Liles, Marcus Jennifer Liles, Joshua Trista McNabb, Timothy McNabb, and Christine Stan McClanahan; eight great-grandchildren: Alec and Emma Lee Meyer, Moira, Marion and James Liles, Carter and Kaden McNabb, and Jodin McClanahan. In addition to his parents and his wife, Mr. Grove was preceded in death by two brothers, Glenn and Dale Grove. He attended Concord Township School and was a 1939 graduate of Troy High School. He was a former member of Ludlow Falls Christian Church and was a current member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Troy. Mr. Grove farmed until he retired in 1999. He was a substitute bus driver for Troy Schools from 1942-1948 and was a full-time driver from 1948-1987. He greeted students by name as they boarded daily. The best part was later getting to transport the grandchildren of the original students on his route. He also worked at Hobart Brothers Co. from 1965-1975. Services will be held at 10:30AM on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at St. John's United Church of Christ, Troy, with Rev. Dr. Keith Wagner officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery, Covington, Ohio. Friends may call from 2-4PM and 6-8PM on Friday at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy.
