JAMES F."BUSS" CALDWELL, age 81, of Casstown, passed away on February 9, 2018 at Hospice of Miami County Inpatient Unit in Troy.  He was born on September 16, 1936 in Troy to the late Ezra and Juanita (Wray) Caldwell

Jim is survived by his wife of 63 years: Pat (Collins) Caldwell of Casstown; daughter: Kim (Jerry) Zimmerman of St. Paris, Dan (Lori) Caldwell of Piqua, Matt (Jody) Caldwell of Conover and Tom (Kathleen) Caldwell of Enon; sisters: Helen Smith of Troy and Kay (Harold) Swigart of IL; and grandchildren: Stephanie (Grant) Davis, Adam (Amy) Zimmerman, Bethaine Caldwell, Kaitlynn Caldwell, Jacob Caldwell, Andrew Caldwell and Megan Caldwell; and four great grandchildren.. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by stepfather: Ernest Alexander; brothers: Bob, Jack, Richard and Bill Caldwell; and grandson: Zach Caldwell.

Jim attended Miami Central Schools. Jim proudly served his country as a member of the US Army. He retired in 1993 as a Chief Warrant Officer 4, after 36 years of service.  He was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Troy.

Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Baird Funeral Home in Troy with Pastor Shawn Hess officiating.  Burial will follow in Casstown Cemetery.  Friends may call from 5:00 – 8:00 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.
