James A. Griffieth died at Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy, Ohio on August 22, 2001. He is survived by his wife, Benita Boller Griffieth; his mother, Opal Marie Skinner Griffieth; son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Kathleen Griffieth;Daughters, Tara Griffieth and Tracy Griffieth; son: Tim Griffieth; brothers and sisters-in-law: Mike and Patty Griffieth; Roger and Janet Griffieth;sister-in-law, Catherine Griffieth; grandchildren, Kyrianne and Trevor Griffieth. He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Eugene Griffieth and a brother, Steven Griffieth. Mr. Griffieth was a member of the Grace Baptist Church, Troy, OH. He was a US Marine Corp veteran of the Vietnam war; member of VFW, Vietnam Veterans Association; member of Marine Corp League; lifetime member of Fraternal Order of Police. He was a 1967 graduate of Troy High School. Mr. Griffieth was a retired Miami County Sheriff Deputy and a driving instructor for Top Driver of Columbus. VFW Memorial Honor Guard will be at graveside.
