Obituary

J. Richard Hoover, age 88, of Troy, OH passed away on January 16, 2022 at the Upper Valley Medical Center.  He was born April 9, 1933 in Troy to the late Carl and Marie (Finfrock) Hoover.  His wife of 67 years, Joyce Werling Hoover survives.  They were married on September 4, 1954.

In addition to his wife, Dick is survived by two children: Stephen and Tammie Hoover and Tracy and Mark Isner of Troy; seven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren and brothers: David Hoover of Lancaster and William Hoover of Palm Springs, CA.  In addition to his parents, Dick was preceded in death by a grandson, A.J. Hoover.

Dick graduated from Troy High School in 1951.  He served five years in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict.  He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, an Eagle Scout and a member of the Troy Elks for over 55 years.  He was a great bowler and an avid golfer, having shot his age over 100 times and had two holes in one.  Dick was a State Farm Insurance agent for twenty-six years and achieved the Golden Triangle Award and the Millionaire Club.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family with interment in Riverside Cemetery in Troy.  Memorial contributions may be made to Miami Valley Veterans Museum, 2245 South County Road 25A, Troy, OH 45373.
