Imogene (Canter) Plantz, 72, of Troy, Ohio passed away on December 8, 2021 at Abrazo Hospital in Scottsdale, Arizona. She was born on March 21, 1949 to the late Wilbur and Ruby (Davis) Canter.

Jeanie will be greatly missed by her surviving family, her husband, Norman, of 52 years; her son Scott (Rene) Plantz of Troy, their children: Austin Zonner of Cincinnati, Jacob and Emma Zonner of Troy; her son Chad (Amy) Plantz of Phoenix, AZ, their children: Nicholas (Haley) Plantz and Alexander (Danielle) Plantz of Phoenix AZ; sister and best friend, Carolyn Neal of Wellston, OH. In addition to her parents, Jeanie was preceded in death by her brother Garland Canter; sister, Patricia Canter and, brother-in-law Dale Neal. Jeanie is also survived by special niece and nephew Robin (Donnie) Wilson and Rod Neal and numerous friends she valued and cared for deeply.

She was a 1967 graduate of Troy High School. She later went on to work for the City of Troy, as a secretary for the City Manager and most notable, Upper Valley Medical Center, as a cashier for 18 years. She was adored for her kindness, cheer, work ethic, and generosity and achieved recognition as the inaugural "Employee of the Year" with UVMC.  Jeanie's passion was supporting her children and grandchildren's various events. Snow, wind, rain, or shine, one thing for sure; Jeanie would be there with a heart full of beaming pride! On most Saturday's she could be found in a chair in front of the television cheering on her Ohio State Buckeyes football team. If she were the coach, they would not have lost a single game! She also enjoyed puzzles, search a word, adult coloring books, and knitting. Jeanie was an excellent cook and baker.

Family and friends are warmly welcome to share in celebration of Jeanie's life and the legacy of love she leaves behind. Viewing will be from 12 - 2pm with funeral service to immediately follow on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at Baird Funeral Home in Troy. Interment following in Riverside Cemetery, Troy.
