Obituary

Ian C. Hamilton, 84, of Troy, Ohio died on Tuesday, April 25, 2006 at the Harborside Healthcare Center, Troy, Ohio. He was born on January 8, 1922 in Glasgow, Scotland to the late John and Betsy Clark Hamilton. He married Jacqueline J. Buck on June 30, 1946; his wife of nearly 60 years survives. He is also survived by two sons & daughters-in-law; Douglas & Ruthanna Pummill Hamilton of Lexington, Kentucky and Joseph & Brenda Hamilton of Littleton, Colorado; brother & sister-in-law; Joseph & Marilyn Hamilton of West Palm Beach, Florida; five grandchildren, Jena; Kevin; Kara; Amy and Emily Hamilton and one great-grandchild, Anna Hamilton. He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother and one sister in infancy. He was a First Class Petty Officer of the US Navy serving during WWII. He was a graduate of Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago with a BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He worked for Fenton Construction for 5 years and then became President and General Manager of Bornell Supply Company, Piqua, OH for 26 years. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 27, 2006 @ 2:00pm at Baird Funeral Home, Troy, Ohio with the Rev. Ed Ellis officiating. Family will greet friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Miami County, PO Box 502, Troy, Ohio 45373 or American Cancer Society.
