Howard N. Ward, age 86, of Troy passed away on May 6, 2022 at Upper Valley Medical Center. He was born on May 18, 1935 in Russell, KY to the late Howard and Edith (Naegele) Ward.

Howard is survived by his son and daughter-in-law: Bryan H.  and Jean Ward of Covington; grandson: Ian J. Ward of Indianapolis, IN; and second cousin: James "Jim" Armstrong of Russell, KY. In addition to his parents, Howard was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Joyce B. Ward.

Howard was a graduate from Russell High School and Morehead State University in 1958. He had worked as a Router with C & O Railroad prior to becoming an elementary school teacher at Miami East Schools. Howard was a member of  the First United Methodist Church in Troy. He was a devoted fan of the Cincinnati Reds, Cleveland Browns, and Kentucky Wildcats.  Howard was a loving husband, wonderful father and an amazing grandfather.

Services will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at the First United Methodist Church, 110 West Franklin Street, Troy, OH with Rev. Dr. Chris Heckaman officiating. Interment will follow in Casstown Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00PM on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at Baird Funeral Home, Troy, OH.
